महान् (Mahan) – The Great One, the Most Exalted, the One worthy of worship. The Lord possesses immeasurable greatness. He is the Infinite Power that sustains all living beings. Therefore, He alone is truly worthy of complete reverence and worship.

सुपारः (Suparah) – The One who carries across with ease, the Bestower of success. The Lord enables human beings to cross the trials, obstacles, and struggles of life safely. सुन्वतः (Sunvatah) – Of the one who performs sacrifice, of the devotee who prepares and offers Soma. Here, “Sunvatah” refers to the devotee who performs sacrifice, preserves the sanctity of Soma, and lives a sattvic and disciplined life. Those who lead a life of purity, righteousness, and meditation become especially receptive to Divine Grace.

सखा (Sakha) – Friend. The Lord is not merely the guide of the devotee; He is also his intimate friend. Dwelling within the heart of the devotee, the Lord protects, comforts, supports, and continually leads him towards spiritual progress as his closest companion.

तस्मै (Tasmai) – Unto Him, to that Supreme Lord. This word expresses the devotee’s complete offering and dedication to the Lord. It reflects the realization that everything ultimately belongs to Him alone.

इन्द्राय (Indraya) – Unto Indra, the Lord of Supreme Majesty. “Indra” signifies the Supreme Lord, the Master of all powers. He is the Supreme Divine Power who grants knowledge, strength, prosperity, and victory to humanity.

गायत (Gayata) – Sing, praise, glorify. Singing the praises of the Lord is not merely an expression of devotion; it is itself a spiritual discipline that purifies the mind. Through praising and glorifying God, a person attains inner peace, spiritual strength, and divine inspiration.
